Students of the International Graduate Program 'Protein Dynamics in Health and Disease' are encouraged to take part in the Seminar Series and Journal Clubs of their home institution and the other labs, which participate in the program.

In addition, we organize both scientific and non scientific seminars to broaden our knowledge and acquire soft skills. In addition to seminars by these intersting guest speakers, we particularly appreciate the opportunity to talk to and discuss with these scientists.

The first ENB Protein Dynamics in Health and Disease seminar, which was solely organised by the students  took place on 27th June 2006. This seminar with the title "Hopes and Concerns in Science" included two sessions with talks from eminent scientists from the fields of Alzheimer´s disease, cancer research and bioethics. Since then, we were able to invite numerous renowned guest speakers from various areas.

In 2007, we had the pleasure to host Günter Blobel, Nobel laureate in Physiology or Medicine in 1999. He gave an exciting talk about 'Traffic through the nuclear pore complex'. Seminars given by Nobel laureates have become a bit of a tradition since then. Erwin Neher, Nobel laureate in Physiology or Medicine in 1991, visited us in 2008, Werner Arber, laureate iin 1978, in 2009 and Harald zur Hausen, laureate 2008, is invited for October 2010.
